Bekken graduated from the National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in 1946. He designed the chair while working for the innovative interior design company Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor. It has an intriguing dynamic between the slender frame, curved backrest and its sculptural armrests. The chair is both elegant and bold at the same time.
