MSHWY03 by Studio Mary Lennox

$0.00

For the design of MSHWY03, Studio Mary Lennox utilizes JOV’s technical crafting capabilities to recreate the underside of a cluster of oyster mushrooms. The distinctive scalloped pattern of irregular, outward-flowing ridges is achieved with differing levels of pile height. The material is a mix of merino wool and mercerized Egyptian cotton.

MSHWY (pronounced MS Highway)—which is an acronym for Mycorrhizal Super Highway—is a collection from Studio Mary Lennox that draws inspiration from the collaborative qualities of certain mushrooms’ ability to connect to one another through a chemical “information” network of sorts (the Mycorrhizal Network). Through symbiosis with other species in their environment, they can encourage a collaboration of different life forms within an ecosystem, comprising the intricate and complex organic system known as the ‘Mycelium Superhighway’ or the “Wood Wide Web”.
